Born of a deep passion for the cinegetic world and a special interest for the red partridge (Alectoris rufa), the Gondićes farm was created. It is our goal to become a benchmark in the information and discussion of all aspects related with this specie, (hunting, controlled breeding, environmental management of populations, etc)
We firmly believe that breeding the red partridge in captivity is an effective method for the reintroduction of the specie in places where they have disappeared or where restocking is necessary for various circumstances (hunting and predator pressure, habitat deterioration, among others.)

We believe however that the cornerstone of this alternative is, on the one hand, the method used (ecosystem and population studies of the covered area, integral cinegetic management of the hunting reserve, age of birds used when restocking, areas to be utilized and time of year when hunting is permitted) and on the other hand, the quality of partridges bred in captivity (genetic purity and sanitary conditions, facilities in which they were raised, food program management in accordance to the purpose for which they are being raised, etc) Always, baring in mind the respect for the wild red partridge and its enhancement.

Gondićes farm also allows the possibility of (re) living rural traditions of Minho – Portugal, to (re) discover and take part in the day to day life of domestic animals, to partake in the celebration of rural festivities, to (re) design spaces of imagination, creativity, to (re) tell stories, to participate in the day to day activities of a farm: farming, vegetable garden, orchard, composting activities, environmental education, animal wellbeing and behavioral education, stockbreeding, to discover and experience the trail of the making of the bread, jam and butter. These are but a few examples of moments and experiences cherished by the ones who visit us.
